Estudo da dinâmica de cobertura vegetal de Curitiba-PR com uso de imagens digitais

Abstract

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi fazer um estudo da dinâmica da paisagem urbana por meio da análise da cobertura vegetal do município de Curitiba – PR, com o uso de imagens digitais de satélite. O estudo se mostra procedente ao enfocar o aspecto multitemporal da distribuição de cobertura vegetal no solo urbano, com informações que podem ser úteis ao sistema de planejamento de áreas verdes urbanas. Pode ainda ser útil ao direcionamento da cidade e à indicação ou tendência da evolução temporal da cobertura vegetal, no contexto da dinâmica do crescimento urbano. Aspecto este que, em função da acelerada urbanização da população brasileira – e mesmo mundial – tende a ser de grande importância ao planejamento ambientalmente sustentável das cidades e, principalmente, das metrópoles atuais. Foram utilizadas duas imagens Landsat TM, sendo uma de 2004 e outra de 1986, que foram corrigidas, classificadas e processadas, a fim de se obter o mapa de cobertura vegetal das duas datas. A partir desses mapas, foram avaliados os cenários das duas datas, bem como a evolução temporal. Também foi avaliada a distribuição de área urbana e, em menor aprofundamento, dos corpos hídricos e solo exposto. No período estudado houve diminuição da cobertura vegetal e aumento da área urbana. Este fenômeno aconteceu em todas as regionais administrativas, sendo que a heterogeneidade da distribuição da cobertura vegetal aumentou, enquanto a da área urbana diminuiu. A cobertura vegetal diminuiu principalmente nas regionais em que houve maior crescimento urbano, o que sugere a substituição de cobertura vegetal por área urbana. Houve uma descentralização do crescimento urbano, que se expandiu para as áreas mais periféricas do município, onde a ocupação urbana era menos densa. A regional que apresentou maior diminuição de cobertura vegetal foi a Pinheirinho, na parte sul da cidade, e a regional que apresentou maior crescimento urbano foi a Cajuru, na parte leste. A regional Matriz apresentou a menor diminuição de cobertura vegetal e o menor crescimento urbano.

This essay studies the dynamics of urban landscape, through the analysis of the vegetable covering in Curitiba - PR, using digital images. The study focuses the multitemporal aspect of the vegetable covering distribution, information that may be useful in the planning of green areas. It could also be useful to the urban directioning and to the indication or tendency of the vegetable covering evolution in the context of urban growth dynamics. This aspect, due to the accelerated urbanization of brazilian population, even world’s population, tends to be very important to the environmental planning of the cities and, mainly, of the current metropolises. It was used two images Landsat TM, one from 2004 and another from 1986, that were corrected, classified and processed, in order to obtain the vegetable covering map for both two dates. With those maps, the sceneries of both two dates were evaluated, as well as the temporary evolution. The distribution of urban areas was also evaluated and, less deeply, the water bodies and exposed soil. In the studied period there was a decrease of the vegetable covering and a increase of the urban area. This phenomenon happened in all the regional administrations, and the heterogeneity of the vegetable covering distribution increased, while the urban area distribution decreased. The vegetable covering decreased mainly in the regional administrations where there was larger urban growth, what suggests the substitution of vegetable covering for urban area. There was a decentralization of the urban growth, that expanded to the municipal outlying areas, where the urban occupation was less dense. The regional administration that presented the largest decrease of vegetable covering was Pinheirinho, in the south part of the city, and the one that presented the largest urban growth was Cajuru, in the east. The regional administration Matriz presented the smallest decrease of vegetable covering and the smallest urban growth.
