dc.description.abstract	This paper emphasizes the importance of the Rural Property Cadaster mainly regarding the Forest Reserve, and the principal matters to be considered for the agricultural development of the small and medium rural properties in South of Brazil are presented. The legal aspects of the forest reserve, the forests situation tn rural properties, and the lack of planning at the time of the colonization projects implantation are discussed, in a way to enlignten the projessz'onats envolved about the importance of these aspects.	pt_BR
