dc.description.abstract	lt is important to fully understand national (contracting parties and international obligations and rights determined by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and, this way. determine what is required of the Clearing-House Mechanism (CHM). According to the Convention, States havee sovereign rights over their own biological resources. They are responsible for conserving their biological diversity, using tlteir biological resources in a sustainable manner and with a fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources. Each contracting Party shall. among other important issues, identify and monitor compotents of biological diversity important for its conservation and sustainable use and identify and monitor activities with adverse impacts.	pt_BR
